Privacy Policy

What we collect through this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, and the choices you have.

Dallas App Devs is a mobile app development company in Uptown Dallas. Most of what we hold about you, you typed into a form because you wanted us to call you back. This policy covers the rest of it too, in plain English and in numbered sections you can link to.

If you read one section, read Section 11 — that is where your rights are.

Scope of this policy

This policy covers dallasappdevs.com (the “Site”) and every way of reaching us from it: the contact form, the estimate form, the newsletter signup, and direct phone, email and text-message correspondence.

It does not govern work performed under a signed client agreement. Once we are engaged, the confidentiality, data-handling and security terms of that agreement control anything they cover, and they take precedence over this policy.

Information you provide to us

You give us information when you fill in a form or write to us. Depending on the form, that is:

  • Your full name
  • A phone number we can reach you on
  • An email address
  • Your company name, where a form asks for it — that field is optional
  • The project details or message you type in

The newsletter signup collects an email address and nothing else. If you call, email or text us, we keep the content of that correspondence so whoever picks the conversation back up knows what was already said.

No form on the Site asks for a payment card number, a Social Security number, or health, financial or biometric detail. Please do not send any of it to us through one.

Information collected automatically

Some information is recorded by our hosting and analytics providers when you visit, without you entering anything:

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser and device type
  • The pages you viewed
  • The referring URL that brought you here
  • A general location — city or region — inferred from your IP address

This is collected through cookies and similar technology. Section 7 describes the categories and how to switch them off.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Prepare and send you a project estimate
  • Communicate with you about a project, before and during an engagement
  • Send you marketing email or texts, where you have opted in
  • Operate, secure and improve the Site
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you. A person reads every inquiry and reviews every estimate before it reaches you.

Email communications

Our marketing email complies with the CAN-SPAM Act:

  • Every marketing message carries a clear unsubscribe link.
  • Unsubscribe requests are honored promptly. You do not have to give a reason or sign in to an account to opt out.
  • Our sender name, reply-to address and subject lines identify us accurately. We do not use false or misleading header information.

Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop transactional replies — the answer to a question you asked us, or a message about work in progress.

SMS/text messages and phone calls

By giving us a phone number on a form, you consent to receive calls and text messages from us about your inquiry, including calls placed with an autodialer or carrying a prerecorded message. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act entitles you to the following, and all of it is true here:

  • Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to agree to calls or texts to get an estimate or to hire us — email us instead.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
  • Message frequency varies. We text about your specific inquiry, not on a schedule.
  • Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
  • Verbal do-not-call requests are honored. Say so on a call and we stop calling.
  • We do not sell or rent phone numbers to third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses three categories:

Strictly necessary
Needed for the Site to load, render and stay secure, and to remember choices such as dismissing the cookie notice. Parts of the Site stop working without these.
Analytics
Tell us in aggregate which pages get read, which get ignored, and where visitors arrive from.
Marketing
Measure whether a campaign or an ad led to an inquiry.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, either for every site or one site at a time — the controls are usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking the strictly necessary category may break parts of the Site.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it in three situations and no others:

Service providers
The companies that run parts of our operation for us — website hosting, our CRM, email delivery and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none is permitted to use it for its own purposes.
Legal and safety compliance
Where we have to respond to a subpoena, a court order or another lawful request, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our people or the public.
A business transfer
If Dallas App Devs is involved in a merger, an acquisition or a sale of assets, information may pass to the successor, which stays bound by this policy or one no less protective.

Data security

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, consistent with applicable Texas data security law — including the reasonable-safeguards duty in Chapter 521 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code.

No safeguard is absolute. No transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of what you send us.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purposes in Section 4, or as long as the law requires us to keep it. When neither applies any more, we delete it or strip out everything that identifies you.

Your privacy rights

Whoever you are and wherever you live: if we hold something about you that is wrong, you can ask us to correct it. Use the details in Section 14.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, and where it came from
  • Delete personal information we hold about you
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights — we will not deny you service, change your price, or give you a lower quality of service

We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, so in practice there is nothing to opt out of. The right is listed because it is yours either way.

If you are in the EEA or the UK and the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it rectified, to have it erased, to restrict how we process it, to object to processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

To exercise any of this, contact us using Section 14. We verify that a request is really yours before acting on it, and we do not charge for one.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us something, tell us using Section 14 and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, the Last Updated date at the top of this page changes with it, and material changes are reflected there. Continuing to use the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
